Effects of Salinity and Rootstock on Nutrient Element Concentrations and Physiology in Own-Rooted or Grafted to 1103 P and 101-14 Mgt Rootstocks of Merlot and Cabernet Franc Grapevine Cultivars under Climate Change

Under the current and future climate crisis, a significant rise in soil salinity will likely affect vine productivity several Mediterranean regions. During present research, rootstock effects on tolerance of Merlot Cabernet Franc grapevine cultivars were studied. In pot hydroponic culture, own-rooted or grafted onto rootstocks 1103 P 101-14 Mgt drip-irrigated with saline water. A completely randomized 3 × 2 factorial experiment was designed two vines, scion cultivars, 100 mM NaCl control treatments, six replications. effect cultivar, rootstock, observed for most measured parameters. At end stress period, leaf, shoot, root, trunk nutrient concentrations measured. Salinity increased Chloride (Cl) Sodium (Na) all parts vines decreased leaf Potassium (K), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), Nitrogen (N), Iron (Fe). contrast, Boron (B) concentrations, whereas that Manganese (Mn) remained unaffected. Leaf chlorophyll concentration from 42% to 40% after thirty sixty days salt treatment, respectively. similar trend CCM-200 relative content. significantly steam water potential (Ws), net CO2 assimilation rate (A), stomatal conductance (gs) cases vines. Sixty beginning total Phenolics PSII maximum quantum yield (Fv/Fm) significantly. The seems be better excluder Na Cl more tolerant compared rootstock.
